Everything You Need to Know About the Pre-leasing Process at Bluff View Management

Leasing an apartment for the first time can seem like a daunting or even stressful task. If you do a little research first, it doesn’t have to be!

Below, you will find a general outline of the usual steps in successfully leasing an apartment at Bluff View Management.

Decide What You Want

Visit our website to learn more about our different apartment locations, floor plans, and to view photos of each. We now have some units that are dog-friendly, so if you have a furry friend, be sure to check those out! Once you’ve decided on the location and floor plan that is ideal for you, you’re ready for the next step.

Fill Out an Application

Once you’ve made the final decision on your apartment preferences, you’ll need to submit a rental application. Keep in mind that each prospective adult tenant will need to fill out an application, not just one of you! You can do this in person or you can do it online. Either way, you’ll need a lot of personal information to fill out an application, so have your photo ID, past pay stubs (for income verification), and some other info about yourself (ie credit references and rental references) at the ready. Also, be aware that we do background checks on potential tenants.

Pay the Holding Deposit and Sign the Lease

The holding deposit will be the same as one month’s rent. When you pay the holding deposit, you will also sign the lease, which will guarantee you a unit of the size that you want! Upon move in, the holding deposit becomes the security deposit, so you won’t have to pay a second fee.

*Hint: The sooner you get the pre-lease signed and the deposit paid, the higher you’ll be on the list to get your preferences fulfilled! Apartments are assigned a month before the lease begins.

These four simple steps make up the pre-lease process at Bluff View Management! We will do everything we can to ensure that you get your preferences fulfilled (ie up/downstairs, carpet/laminate flooring, etc.).
